Google Bay View Campus

High-Tech

The Google Bayview campus, with its complex tent-like roof and kite-shaped sections, posed significant challenges for PPC. The team coated 1.3 million SF of structural steel across varying elevations, addressing damaged shop-applied primer, applying primer to connections, and finishing with two topcoats on exposed steel across multiple similarly designed buildings.

Challenge

Due to material, design, and labor impacts from other trades, maintaining the construction schedule required frequent adjustments and re-sequencing. PPC deployed specialized access solutions—such as Quick Deck platforms and articulated lifts—to navigate floor loading restrictions and ensure continuous progress despite shifting site conditions.

Solution

Despite significant challenges, PPC successfully applied over 10,000 gallons of paint while maintaining a strong safety record—completing 22,140 work hours without a single time-loss incident—demonstrating exceptional skill, planning, and commitment to safety in a complex, high-risk environment.
