City of Glendale Pyramid Peak WTP
Penington Painting Company (PPC) delivered essential rehabilitation and system-addition services to an operational Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The core scope included applying 6,800 SF of Fiberglass Reinforced Protective Coatings for secondary containment, plus waterproofing and the painting/labeling of approximately 2.42 miles of piping for new and existing chemical injection systems.
The primary challenge was executing complex coating work while the WTP remained active. Critical systems had extremely limited, non-negotiable off-line windows. This required PPC to condense demolition, extensive substrate repairs (due to years of damage), and coating cure times into rapid sequences, demanding flawless logistics and absolute adherence to schedule.
PPC overcame these restraints using a disciplined management plan and close WTP coordination. By leveraging the specific off-line windows, the team efficiently performed substrate repairs and applied the 6,800 SF Fiberglass coatings. This precise execution ensured all rehabilitated systems were commissioned on time, minimizing operational downtime for the client.
