Children’s Museum of Phoenix

The Phoenix Children’s Museum recently unveiled one of the Valley’s most unique play features—a giant snake-shaped sandbox designed to spark imagination and adventure. With a spacious sand area at its center, built-in steps for climbing and exploring, and a smaller raised sandbox off to the side, this creative space invites kids to dig, build, and play to their hearts’ content.

Penington Painting Company was proud to be part of bringing this one-of-a-kind project to life. After Jerry and Craig introduced the opportunity, our own Leo Hernandez jumped in to paint the snake sandbox, adding the vibrant finishing touches that made it truly come alive.

To celebrate its debut, Ron Wahler’s wife attended the opening event at the museum, enjoying a day of sunshine, exploration, and fun in the “Move It!” exhibit with their grandkids—showcasing the joy this project brings to families.
